Maladype Theatre of Hungary makes their American debut with an experimental take on Alfred Jarry’s satirical, grotesque classic, Ubu Roi. An exploration of the cowardly, greedy, and amoral Ubu, Maladype’s production is an unusual mixture of pure theater, nonsense, and myth – an apocalyptic buffoonery.

In 1920, America was enthralled by the nature writings of a precocious six-year-old girl named Opal Whiteley. Nearly 100 years later, The Morningtime of Now captures her stories in puppetry and her poetry in song. A play for adults and children alike that transports the audience to Opal’s enchanting, pastoral world of The Blue Hills.

An American president dreams that he is a sheriff of a derelict Western town. A Chinese diplomat dreams that he is a seventh century monk on a holy journey. What happens when two stories from opposite sides of the world converge and their mythologies collide? This April, join us for the culmination of Touchstone Theatre’s latest community-based project, as Eastern pilgrimage meets Western showdown on the South Bethlehem Greenway. Produced in collaboration with the Moravian College Theater Company.

Touchstone’s annual Young Playwrights’ Festival features exceptional, original plays written by area students during the theatre’s award-winning Young Playwrights’ Lab. The Touchstone Ensemble and a slew of professional and community guest artists bring the plays to life onstage at Zoellner Arts Center’s Baker Hall. This inspiring evening will melt your heart, tickle your funny bone, and ignite your imagination.

A Gala & Auction Fundraiser will directly follow the Festival; proceeds benefit Touchstone’s arts-in-education programs. Also, join us before the Festival for our 10th Annual Celebration, where guests will enjoy a cash bar, hors d’Oeuvres, and a chance to reflect on the past ten years.
